I don't think I've ever heard my son say he wanted to "be just like daddy". Well, not in so many words. But his actions tell me that he does. He wants to be JUST like his dad. This is his "motocycle" and every night he takes it in the "gawage", gets his "towols" out, and works on it a bit. Then he lets us know that the "bawery is chawgin". He is mimic-ing everything that Mike does. It's priceless. But scary too. It is making me take a closer look at myself and re-check the little things I do. Those little eyes are watching like hawks.... (as Hannah walks by and whispers "For Pete's sake!!!" under her breath)...OOPS!!
"Lord, just as my little ones watch and mimic me, may I continue to watch and mimic you. May my actions speak louder than my words. Because I want to be just like you daddy. "

Oh, they do see and watch everything don't they...I love your prayer at the end, we need to be more like our kids and imitate our Father a whole lot more.

Ok sad but true it's funny now but I was devistated when my Mike at the ripe age of 5 (he is now 23)immitated his father. He was pouring himself a glass of milk only he was pouring it in a shot glass. OUCH! Daddy got in big trouble that night.
Thank God it's never to late to walk like our Father.

This is a great post! So sweet! (Like that Rodney Adkins song- "Watching You"- makes me tear up) Its so funny how they do copy us! If my hubby and I yell across the house for each other, my son will yell "YEAH??" LOL
Re: your comment to me...Wow, exclusively! That is incredible! I BF too, but pump so I can leave the house on occasion. I hear you on the 10 more lbs! The "sweet victory" comment made me lol. I actually want to lose a total of 20 to get back to my size before I ever had babies. Will be spending a small fortune at the tailor! :-)

And just like people raise their eyebrows and say, "Yep, that's Mike's kid for sure", people raise their eyebrows and says "yep, those are God's kids." Good or bad, they do it! Oh yes, we must mimic our heavenly Father!
