Happenings...

A few conversations at my house this week:

Isaiah  "Let's pway Simon says okay?"
Hannah "Okay, but I get to be 'Simon'"
Isaiah "okay. Me be 'Says'"

Mike brought the kids home suckers one day after work.  He told them he had a "treat" but they couldn't have them until after supper.  Then, after supper, he hid them in his pockets and made them wrestle him to get them.  FINALLY after what must have seemed like FOREVER  I helped them find them in his pockets.  Unwrapping his, Isaiah smiles wide and says
"OH DADDY, this is such a bwessing!!"

After making an angel food cake, having it go flat and limp, scraping the sides off the useless pan and cursing all the while (okay, not cursing, but def. grumbling!!), after Mike makes fun of the cake, and tells me I "must need a new pan" (which I really do!! lol) I made the kids eat it anyways.  Hannah pipes up, as I'm STILL grumbling:
"Mom, just because it looks really bad, well, you know what?  It tastes brilliant!"

Aliah "mama, mama"  (sorry, couldn't leave her out this time!)

And, just for fun..a picture of one of our projects today:

Making boxes for all our "memories" (ie. pics/cards/momentos)... our other ones are becoming a tad too small!

I had a post ready, willing and able.  A silly one.  One that made me smile.  But I can't post it right now.  (I will another day.  promise)

Today, you MUST go to visit Angie (who is grieving the loss of a child) and read her BLINK post.  All of it.

Go on.  Go now.  Read it.  To the end.

Blink.

Blessings...

Two of my three blessings..(the third was sleeping!!!)

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Sorry about the lack of posts.  Life has got me by the tail and is twirling me around silly!!  I'm back to work and trying to "get in the groove".  I really didn't make a ton of time to post right now, it's 10:46 p.m. and I've got a load of clothes in the dryer, as well as Aliah's birthday cake in the oven.  I worked 7am-6pm today, then went straight to Hannah's baseball game...needless to say, I've got lots still to do!!  But I did want to share this little pic with you.

I was playing 'hide & seek' the other day with the kids.  I just HAD to get a pic of Isaiah playing.  He was hiding from me, and he ran into our little "cubby".  (right under the stairs we have made a playroom of sorts with a chalkboard and some books, crayons etc...a hideaway for them).  I knew he was in there, but decided to "play up" the game.  As I was calling his name I entered the cubby looking around, being careful to avert my eyes away from him.  This was what he was doing.

Seemed as though if he didn't see me, then there was NO WAY I could see him.  TOO FUNNY!!!  A few moments later (after I took the pic) he scared me silly by jumping out of the cubby when I "just couldn't find him".  Then he laughed and laughed.
Oh to be a kid again........

It's Real Life

Jessica is hosting "It's Real Life Thursday" once again.  This weeks theme is
Momentous Occasions..

Here are 4 of my "momentous occasions" (there are a few more that I didn't post)

May 24, 1997.
Probably the best day of my life.  I know that's hard to pinpoint, but had I not have married this man, I would not have had the life I live now.  [Not that it would have  been worse (noone will ever know) but it definitely would have been different.]  I absolutely love my life, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this man.  He is a gem.

May 11, 2002
The long awaited arrival of baby # 1.  Hannah Joy.  20 months of trying, and we were (finally) blessed with a 'Gracious and Compassionate' daughter.  She is truly a *Joy* in or lives.

September 6, 2004

baby # 2.  Isaiah Micah.  'mischevious and active, yet thoughtful and remorseful' Our beautiful baby boy.

July 2, 2007
baby #3.  Aliah Hope.  Gentle and adapating.  Yet she loves to be heard.  She fits into the family perfectly.  Beautiful smile and a symbol of *HOPE*.  A needed and wanted addition to "us".

Faith..

I have been pining over a "wall hanging" for quite some time now, but have not made any effort to put it in the budget.  Aside from "life" being on the budget, being on maternity never helps the matter.  And the list of "stuff wanted" is longer than necessary.  (You must know what I mean!!)

My loving husband worked an extra shift from 1:00am - 4:00am on his holidays and then the next day came home with this for me...

My "wanted" (not needed) wall hanging..

I am thrilled to pieces!!

**If you can't read it (pic was taken on an angle as to rid the glare from the glass) it has FAITH in big letters across the pic and then it reads:
I believe in the sun even when it is not shining, in love even when I am alone, and in God even when He is silent.
(and then in small letters at bottom) it reads:
Transcription found scratched into a wall in Germany by someone hiding from Nazi concentration camps." *****

So here I am, LATE, for this weeks "It's Real Life" with Jessica. I  the kids, misplaced my camera.  These are the pictures I managed to download.  **If anyone knows WHERE my camera is, please let me know (wink wink) because I would HATE to have to buy a new one (wink wink)**

This is the list:
  • *Under the bed
  • *What's in and on your dresser
  • *What's on your night table
  • *The pictures/decorations
  • *What you love about it
  • *What you hate about it
  • *What makes it uniquely you
  • *What you sleep in (let's keep it G ;-))
Here is "Where the Magic Happens"!!!

Not a huge room, but works for us.  I do make the bed every morning (almost) so if you came to visit you would see my bedroom like this.

My very favourite part of my room--my very own bathroom!!  I love love love it!!

What was under the bed the day I took some pics...hmmm...a soother, a piece of paper, my slippers, and some dirt.  Oh yeah, I see my scale too.

I can't seem to find my nightstand pic--it's just a wicker brown stand that holds my ipod base, a book and my cell phone when it's charging.

I hate the colour of my bedroom. I think they call it "builders beige".  Someday, once all my renovations are complete, I may get energetic and paint.  But that will be awhile.  And I really wish I could find a bedskirt to match--but I haven't found one yet.

The fact that it is tidy most of the time, is what makes it uniquely  me.

As for what I sleep in?  No comment. lol.  (come on girls, my dad reads these!!)

****BTW--I am looking at placing some drapery on the window.  Any ideas on what kind?  I really like the tab kind, but I'm not sure if I should have them go right to the floor, or a bit under the window?????  I would LOVE some suggestions!!!****

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Our baby girl entered this world one year ago today.  July 2, 2007.    Just like her siblings, she came 3 weeks early.  She shocked mommy and daddy early in the morning, around 3:30am, but then decided she just might not want to come out!  (God was timing everything for us!)  After a little bit of help from the doctor, she was enticed out, at 9:30am--making a controlled, mild, gentle, BEAUTIFUL birth story for a very beautiful little girl.  The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck and I thanked God for going before us and preparing a gentle delivery. (If anyone knows the story of Isaiah and the "less than one hour" birth story you will understand our need for gentle!!  And may understand Isaiah a bit more..ha!)
Happy Birthday Aliah!  We are all SO SO glad you are here.
Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Hannah & Isaiah. xoxoxo
