Happenings...

A few conversations at my house this week:

Isaiah  "Let's pway Simon says okay?"
Hannah "Okay, but I get to be 'Simon'"
Isaiah "okay. Me be 'Says'"

Mike brought the kids home suckers one day after work.  He told them he had a "treat" but they couldn't have them until after supper.  Then, after supper, he hid them in his pockets and made them wrestle him to get them.  FINALLY after what must have seemed like FOREVER  I helped them find them in his pockets.  Unwrapping his, Isaiah smiles wide and says
"OH DADDY, this is such a bwessing!!"

After making an angel food cake, having it go flat and limp, scraping the sides off the useless pan and cursing all the while (okay, not cursing, but def. grumbling!!), after Mike makes fun of the cake, and tells me I "must need a new pan" (which I really do!! lol) I made the kids eat it anyways.  Hannah pipes up, as I'm STILL grumbling:
"Mom, just because it looks really bad, well, you know what?  It tastes brilliant!"

Aliah "mama, mama"  (sorry, couldn't leave her out this time!)

And, just for fun..a picture of one of our projects today:

Making boxes for all our "memories" (ie. pics/cards/momentos)... our other ones are becoming a tad too small!

Don't you love the days when getting a sucker was all you needed to make your day perfect? I love the kid stories... and hope I hold onto a little bit of that wonder as I get older!!!

I love this post! Your kids comments are so sweet! The cake thing made me LOL. Your husband is too cute- all helping blame it on the pan instead of the baker. (My hubby would do that too- he is not about to bite the hand that feeds him!) I've never made an angel food cake! Can buy them for 2 dollars here, lol, and love that with cool whip and strawberries. YUMMMM...

SO cute that Aliah is saying Mama! (That's a big thing to me...Dax said it a couple of times as a baby, then stopped and didnt say it again until he was 20 something months old) Now it's music to my ears!
